Our Dojo Code:
CHARACTER, SINCERITY, EFFORT, ETIQUETTE, SELF CONTROL.
Our Academy in Warrington is for a new generation wishing to learn the original Karate of Okinawa. The Academy was founded in 1985 and is affiliated to the British Karate Association based in Manchester.
The chief instructor is Ged Dolan 6th Dan and is assisted by Mike Whitlow 5th Dan, Barry Abbott, Chris Collopy and Cliff Maylor all 4th Dans. Karate is more than just a physical activity, in that it involves a code of dojo (training hall) practice which incorporates etiquette and discipline. Physically Karate has it all, as it combines every aspect of what is meant by being physically fit.
Karate training develops co-ordination, flexibility, stamina, balance and strength with the added bonus of learning self defence, which all together can produce a well mannered more alert and confident student.
Karate has a structure of recognised advancement, known as a Karate grading. This generally takes the form of nine lower grades or coloured belts called kyu starting from 9th kyu up to Black belt levels called Dan. It usually takes a minimum of three years for a student to advance from 9 th kyu to Blackbelt.
